Honduras
Honduras offers both the experienced and beginning Neotropical birder a fun and worthwhile experience. If it’s your first time, you won’t be overwhelmed by dozens of unfamiliar spinetails and antbirds, but there are still lots of wonderful tropical species to be seen, like Keel-billed Toucan, Crimson-collared Tanager, and Lovely Cotinga, which is often easy to find at the luxurious Lodge at Pico Bonito, where the second half of the tour is based. For the veteran Neotropical birder, Honduras is the place to see many otherwise hard-to-find species, like Keel-billed Motmot, Bushy-crested Jay, Green-breasted Mountain-gem, Prevost’s Ground-Sparrow, and the endemic Honduran Emerald.
We will add a more detailed itinerary closer to the start of the tour, or you may contact us for more details.
