North
America is the newest of
the world's regions where we run tours. We were once reluctant to do so
based on the assumption that you can do it alone, and because we
preferred to
concentrate on areas of the world that were difficult to visit without
a good bird guide.
While it is possible to do much of North America alone, we have
realized that the attraction of a tour is not just the simplicity and
ease of getting lots of birds; traveling with an expert guide as well
as developing new friendships helps to transform trips to even familiar
areas into birding
adventures that you will treasure. It is about seeing lots of birds,
having a ton of fun, and learning about the avifauna of this great
continent.
The
Tropical Birding commitment to expanding birding in the USA is
exemplified by our new project, the Tropical Birding Information Center
in High Island, Texas. Here, in conjunction with
the Houston Audubon Society, we have free professional guides stationed
for the spring migration season to help both novice and old timer
birders experience the magic of spring migration on the Upper Texas
Coast.
