Hello, and I hope to meet some of you on future tours! I am a single woman and I'm happy to share a room and avoid the Single Supplement. My next trip with Tropical Birding is to Tanzania (Mar 29 - April 18, 2024.) I've made quite a few trips to Central and South America (Costa Rica is what got me hooked on international birding) but there are many places in Africa and Asia that I want to visit. Good birding to all!

Lookin' to Travel!
Hello, My name is Dina and I am a birder/photographer from San Antonio, Tx. I am likely signing up for the North Ecuador Birding with a Camera tour in February 2024. Hopefully there will be other ladies signing up looking for a roommate so I can avoid the single supplement. Most of the people I go birding with are either disabled or can’t afford tours so I would like to find someone to do more tours with. I don’t mind traveling alone for the most part but it would be nice to have someone to share the experience with.
Hey, Dina, I see that you saw my (Kathy) post. I do a lot of photography on birding tours, but I always use bins first to see the bird, at least well enough to add it to my life list, and then I go for my camera. And I'm really an "opportunistic" photographer - if I get a great shot, fine but I'd rather see more birds than spend time on getting a great photo. Still, it sounds like we might have some common interests, so let's keep in touch to see if we can meet on one trip or another.
Just signed up for Taiwan BWC. Exciting!
Oh wow! Very exciting!
I so love birding, nature, and photography! Nature and wildlife fascinate me. There are so many places I want to visit. I do travel as a single female as I cannot get my husband interested in the trips, plus he has no interest in rising early to see the good stuff. TB Tours on my own is fun because I enjoy getting to know my fellow travelers. Traveling by myself works for most of the trips, except the Galapagos Tour is a problem because "single supplement" is not possible on that trip. I am really anxious to visit the Galapagos Islands.
Hi Phyllis! I've already been to Galapagos, and you've got to go! I understand a strange (as in unfamiliar, not wacko) roommate would be daunting, but you really aren't going to be spending a lot of time in your cabin - there's too much to see! Hope you go!
Interest: Photography of all sorts of creatures, mainly birds, but any creature will do. I'm on my own when I travel because my husband hates to fly, so I enjoy hanging out with like-minded people as long as I get my "me-time" along the way and people stay quiet on the trails.
Kathy, Tanzania will blow you away. Its simply a phenomenal country to visit and the wildlife is simply non-stop.
