Texas boasts one of the biggest state lists in all of the United States, and is therefore a natural inclusion in our tour portfolio. It is a massive state, with very different corners of it for birding, and for this reason, we currently offer two very different tours to there.
A birding tour focuses on the phenomenon of spring migration on the Upper Texas Coast, when warblers pack the woods and shorebirds pack the shore, and this also offers a short extension into the Hill Country for Golden-cheeked Warbler and others.
The South Texas Birding with a Camera Tour® focuses on the myriad birding sites in the Rio Grande Valley in the south of the state, where a distinctly Mexican flavor is added to the local birds, with species like Green Jay, Green Kingfisher, Great Kiskadee, and Aplomado Falcon occur, among a host of reserves that offer not only premier birding, but also excellent photography too, for the birders with cameras among us.
Tropical Birding Tours has been operating tours in Texas for 15 years, and has been visiting annually during this time, putting us in a very good position to offer both these tours and any customised tour to the region you wish for.
